Your spouse/cohabitant and your children can accompany you to Sweden for the duration of your stay. They may also need to get a visa or a residence permit, depending on their citizenship and length of stay. See also the Social Security section which gives information about family benefits in Sweden.
Complete information can be found in the Migration Board's fact sheets: for non-EU/EEA citizens, and for EU/EEA citizens. If you are working in Sweden for six months or more, your spouse/cohabitant can also get a work permit. At the Swedish Employment Service, AMS, you can receive tips of how to find job in Sweden
Your local kommun (county) or municipality should have information in English on local schools and daycare on their own websites, which are linked to from this start site for Swedish government services, list of counties. If you would like your child to have a place in pre-school or child care activities (dagis, in Swedish), you must apply at least 3-4 months prior to your need of an assigned place. Submit your application to the municipality(ies) of your choice.
