Europe4Researchers is a newsletter that aims to take a fresh look at the rich rewards and occasional challenges of working and pursuing a career in research today.

Researchers' Night

The European Commission's Researchers in Europe is an initiative continuing the theme of Researchers' Night. The specific objectives of the initiative are to:

  • bring researchers closer to the public
  • attract young people to scientific careers
  • increase Europe’s attractiveness as hosting territory for researchers

European Researchers' Night is one opportunity to offer a platform where all stakeholders involved from students, teachers and parents, to businesses, research organisations, public authorities and foundations to express and exchange views on the researcher’s profession and the researcher’s contribution to society. Many cities across the 27 Member States are are likely to host activities on European Researchers' Night in September.

EURODOC

The European Council of doctoral candidates and young researchers, EURODOC, takes the form of a federation of national associations of PhD candidates and young researchers. EURODOC's objectives are:

  • To represent doctoral candidates and junior researchers at the European level in matters of education, research, and professional development of their careers.
  • To advance the quality of doctoral programmes and the standards of research activity in Europe.
  • To promote the circulation of information on issues regarding young researchers; organize events, take part in debates and assist in the elaboration of policies about Higher Education and Research in Europe.

EURES

The purpose of EURES is to provide information, advice and recruitment/placement (job-matching) services for the benefit of workers and employers as well as any citizen wishing to benefit from the principle of the free movement of persons.
